BT-03
The most daring café racer – The BT03, based on a Harley Davidson Softail Fat Bob.
“Produced between 1977 and 1979, it is the only café racer in Harley-Davidson’s history, with only 3,133 made. I was fascinated every time I saw one on the streets of Paris.” – Sacha Lakic, founder of Blacktrack.
“The idea came from the motorbike that marked my childhood, the Harley-Davidson XLCR”.
The BT03 features a large number of bespoke parts, which have been designed not only to enhance the aesthetics of this bike, but also to dramatically reduce its weight to deliver exceptional handling and strong acceleration.
Blacktrack Motors designed all the aluminium parts: the fork tees, rear controls, backrest and mudguard brackets. Each aluminium part is meticulously designed in the Blacktrack studio, then precision machined on the CNC machine tool of one of our trusted technical partners.
The fuel tank
The BT03 Cafe Racer is not an exact replica of the Harley-Davidson XLCR model. It simply seeks to capture the XLCR ethos. You’ll notice hints of the inspiration model’s DNA in the fuel tank.
The seat
The premium leather seat is very sleek, with white stitching and red piping to match the colour of the windscreen. The seat also accentuates the racer look of the bike. Every detail of the seat has been meticulously crafted to deliver an exceptional riding experience.
Composite parts
Composite parts include the front mudguard, fuel tank, rear shell and monoshock cover, adding a modern touch to its retro look.
The engine
The Fat Bob 114 engine has been unbridled. The Milwaukee-Eight V-Twin has been upgraded with a stage 1 limited to a new mapping, including a Screamin Eagle high flow air filter and exhaust tips supplied by Dr Jekill & Mr Hyde.
Significant
Significant weight reduction
weight reduction
Bulky OEM parts have been replaced, saving 40% in weight. The total weight of the replaced parts is only 8.5 kg, or 5.5 kg less. The modifications have reduced the unsprung weight of the model by 13 kg.
